The Micro Enterprise Development Program is aimed
at economically empowering the previously disadvantaged particularly
people living with HIV/Aids. Women are given preferential treatment as
they are in the majority of single parent families. At present the
Naitumela Project is spearheading this program, under the leadership of
Sheila Wise- Rowe. About 35 women are involved in Zulu Bead work and
this number includes people living with HIV/Aids. Jabu Tlhabane
coordinates the program and has been instrumental in training the
Caregivers and patients at Emthonjeni to create beaded work.
